From the front porch of the Little Yellow Cottage you can greet "Buggy Bill" as he trots past in his horse-drawn carriage, or you can simply enjoy the flower garden and its white picket fence border. The high-fenced back yard is centered by an ancient, ivy-draped apple tree. In the summer the yard is shaded by a giant pecan tree, in the spring the yard is perfect for bird watching, and in the fall there are abundant apples and nuts to gather for homemade pie which can be enjoyed on the mosaic table for two or the dining deck for four to six guests. Right next door is Parkside Cottage.

The inside of the Little Yellow Cottage is just as pleasant. The living room has two couches (one with a queen sofa bed) as well as chairs for socializing or for quiet enjoyment of the room's garden-facing windows. The master bedroom, decorated in pastel garden colors, has high ceilings and a veil that drapes down over the queen bed, and it has its own private bath with shower.

The unique "Mark Twain" bedroom has pictures and quotes from the famous Gold Rush era author and is graced by an antique oak bed. Around the corner is the second bathroom, complete with a hand-painted claw foot tub. The well-stocked blue and white kitchen is decorated with a collection of antique coffee pots, and has a cozy dining area perfect for small family dinners or intimate breakfasts.
